Update your LinkedIn Profile
Make sure your LinkedIn profile is all set up to best promote you and Proximity!
Here are the key things to complete to ensure your profile is branded and searchable by clients and potential clients.

Update your current Position in your introduction Section
By default, the introduction section on your profile displays your current position and company as shown in the Experience section of your profile.
To update your current position on your introduction section:
1. Click the Me icon at top of your LinkedIn homepage.
2. Click View profile.
3. Click the Edit icon in your introduction section (icon is a pencil)
4. In the pop-up window that appears, under the Current Position field, click Add new position and enter your information. IMPORTANT: Please ensure you tag "Proximity" as the company in this form.
5. Select I am currently working in this role checkbox.
- You can also select Update my headline checkbox to populate the Headline field that appears with your current job title and company.
6. Click Save.
Update your profile photo
To add a profile photo:
1. Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
2. Click View Profile.
3. Click on the Camera icon in your introduction section.
- If you’ve already added a profile photo, you won’t see the Camera icon (see below instructions for change/edit photo)
4. From the Add photo pop-up window, you can:
- Click Use camera to take a photo using your device’s camera.
- Click Upload photo to select an image from your computer - please use your Proximity Corporate Photo (should be provided to you as part of onboarding or find in the Corporate Images library here)
5. Follow the prompts to take a new photo or upload one.
6. After uploading the photo, you can:
- Crop the photo, use photo filters, adjust, change the position and size, rotate, or select the visibility of your profile photo.
7. Click Save photo.
To change, edit, or delete your profile photo:
1. Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
2.Click View profile.
3.Click on your profile photo in your introduction section.
4. In the Profile photo pop-up, you can:
- Click Edit, to crop the photo, use photo filters, adjust, change the position and size, rotate or change the visibility of your profile photo.
- Click Add photo and follow prompts to change your profile photo.
- Click Frames to add a frame to your profile photo.
- Click Delete to delete your photo.
5.Click Save photo.
Add a cover photo
Add our Proximity branding as your background photo:
1. Download and save our branded cover photo to your computer here.
2.Tap the Profile icon.
3. Tap the background photo section > Tap CHANGE from the Add Background Photo page.
4. Follow the prompts to upload our brandec cover photo from your computer.
5. Change the position and size by dragging the photo.
6. Tap SAVE on the upper right corner.
Edit the About section in your profile
The About section on your profile is where you can express your mission, motivation, and skills to people who view your profile!
To update your About section from desktop:
1. Click the Me icon at top of your LinkedIn homepage.
2. Click View Profile.
3. Scroll down to the About section and click the Edit icon.
4. In the Edit about pop-up, fill out your information in the Description field.
6. Click Save.
Update the experience section to reflect your role at Proximity
To add that you work at Proximity in your Experience section and past position(s):
1. Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage, then View Profile.
2. Click Add profile section button in your introduction section.
3. Click Core dropdown, then Add position.
4. In the Add experience pop-up window, enter your information into the fields provided.
5. Click Save.
Repeat the above steps to add more positions to your profile.
To edit or delete a position:
1. Click the Me icon at top of your LinkedIn homepage, then View Profile.
2. Scroll down to the Experience section.
3. Click Show all experiences.
- From here you can:
Add: Click the Add icon at the top of the Experience section. Make changes where applicable and tap Save.
Edit: Click the Edit icon next to the position you'd like to edit, and after editing, click Save.
Delete: Click the Edit icon next to the position you'd like to remove, then click Delete experience, and click Delete.
Note: If you’ve enabled the Notify Network option, your network may be informed of the changes.
Update your skills
You can add and remove skills from the Skills section on your profile. Maintaining a relevant list of skills on your profile will help others understand your strengths and match you with the right opportunities. You can add up to 50 skills to your profile.
If you don't have any skills listed on your profile, the Skills section won't appear.
To add the Skills section and skills:
1. Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage, then View Profile.
2. Click Add profile section button in your introduction section.
3. Click Core and select Add skills from the dropdown.
4. In the Add skill pop-up window, you can:
- Type the name of a skill and select it from the dropdown list that appears or select a skill from Suggested based on your profile. Once selected, it is automatically added to your list of skills.
- Select the checkboxes that show where you put this skill to use.
- Click Save.
Repeat the above steps to add more skills to your profile.
Connect with your contacts
Building your LinkedIn network is a great way to stay in touch with clients well as connect with your Proximity colleagues.
There are several ways to connect with people on LinkedIn:
Member's profile - Click or tap the Connect button on their profile page.
Search results page - Click Connect to the right of the member's information.
Grow Your Network page - Import contacts using their email address.
My Network page - Accept pending invitations.
People you may know - Click or tap the Connect button below the member's name.
Leverage Connections - Ask a mutual connection to help you connect. Send a message to your existing network asking who can help you connect to a 2nd-degree connection.
