Changing MS Team's Default Document Opening Application
This guide's purpose is to demonstrate how to change the default way Teams opens files, as Teams will render the documents internally by default.
Changing Default
- Open Microsoft Teams
- Click on your profile icon in the top right, then click "Manage Account":
- Go to the Files tab:
- And change the file preference to your preferred option:
NOTE:
If you are not using a Proximity laptop, and do not have the Microsoft Office suite installed on your computer, you will not be able to change this feature to "Desktop App". You must instead select Browser, or Teams.
