How to capture Outlook emails and events to Apex Business

Salesforce provides an add-in for Outlook that allows you to easily capture emails from clients and record them against the matching record in Apex Business.
How to open the Salesforce Add-In
To access Salesforce from within Outlook, click the blue Salesforce cloud icon. Depending on if you are using Outlook for Desktop or Outlook Web Access, it may be located it different places:
How to login to Salesforce in the Outlook connector
The first time you use the connector, you are required to login:
- When prompted which environment to use, select 'Production'
- When prompted for a username and password, click on 'Use Custom Domain' in the bottom-right corner
- Enter 'proximityadvisoryservices' and click continue
- Click the 'Proximity Account' button
You should now be connected.

How to log an email or event to Apex Business using the add-in
The following instructions depict logging an email you received to Apex Business, but the same method will work for emails you sent and calendar events.
- Begin by selecting the email in Outlook, the Salesforce Add-in changes to the Log Event screen:

Select the type of record you wish to save this email against (i.e. Account, Contact, Opportunity or Project) by clicking the drop-down menu. For example these screenshots show how to change the type of record to Account:

Then search for the relevant record you want to log the email against by typing in the 'Search' box and clicking on the name of the record. It will then appear under the 'Other' section:
- Select if you would also like to log the email against the Contacts that are in the email chain

Finally, select if you would like to include any attachments from the email:
- Select 'Save' to log this email to Apex Business
